We’ve all been there, the unstoppable plan that you’ve concocted for the last 2 weeks is now ready to be put be in motion. Then that <INSERT LIFE EVENT> happens and the voice in your head says nope not today, I can’t start now anyway because this just happened. You might not feel like doing it for a million different reasons, it might be shitty weather, you might have had 6 hours sleep last night because your kid was up 3 times crying, it could be anything but here’s the newsflash – there is always an excuse folks, that’s just the way it is. The reality is you need to decide whether this is something that is worth your while, something you cannot do without and then COMMIT!!! Separate your “feelings” from the process of just getting it done, feelings are good, they’re an important part of being human but they can be a pain in the ass when it comes down to the hard stuff.
Example – It took me 3 weeks to get over the shock of getting up at 5am to go to the gym 4 days of the week. After the 3 weeks no matter if I felt like it or not I just did it as that was just part of the day, like waking up and eating breakfast. The hardest part is just starting, as that bad-ass Thomas Jefferson once said – “To achieve something you’ve never had before, you must do something you’ve never done before.”
In summary stop giving yourself a choice and asking how you feel about it when you know it needs done! Just go and start already
